Integration Oversight Lead
Emerging Tech is seeking an Integration Oversight Lead to support the VA Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with deep expertise in VistA/Cerner integration, interface development, and system configuration. The Integration Oversight Lead will provide technical guidance, manage interface portfolios, and ensure seamless design, development, and cutover of complex health IT systems across federal environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as an Integration Oversight Lead, providing VistA/Cerner expertise for interface and application development/configuration efforts
Collaborate with system integrators to ensure interface and solution designs meet VA requirements
Support interface/solution design, development, testing, and cutover planning, including technical analysis of Interface Control Documents and other artifacts
Manage a portfolio of interfaces and plan timelines for transition to sustainment
Gather, collect, and populate data for VistA and non-VistA legacy application cutover and transition templates
Engage with legacy system owners, business stakeholders, and Cerner
Coordinate meetings, create minutes, track action items, and follow up to ensure progress
Create and manage plans for interface decommissioning
Identify, remediate, and escalate technical challenges, gaps, risks, or issues
Apply knowledge of message routing, filtering, and transformation through middleware or data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, DICOM)
Work independently to solve technical issues and prepare briefs for senior government leads
Provide input to process design, documentation, and improvement initiatives
Support specialized integration efforts in areas such as radiation oncology, dental imaging, and EHR orderable aliasing
Minimum Qualifications:
15+ years of professional work experience
Proven experience creating strategies and plans for integrating multiple IT systems/subsystems into operational units, ensuring full functionality and performance
Ability to coordinate with development and user teams to assess risks, goals, and requirements
Experience introducing new hardware or software into existing environments while minimizing disruption and mitigating risks
Cost-conscious with the ability to balance project goals and resources
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or 8 additional years of relevant experience may be substituted)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting the VA or similar federal healthcare environments
Experience implementing Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
Hands-on experience with HL7, FHIR, DICOM interfaces, APIs, and Millennium configuration
Specialized experience integrating radiation oncology treatment planning, post-processing, or dental/dental imaging applications
