Emerging Tech is seeking a seasoned IT Strategy Advisor to provide high-level guidance and leadership support for the NYC Department of Education’s Strategic IT Governance Operations Support Program. This role will shape the DOE’s multi-year IT roadmap, drive modernization initiatives, and ensure technology investments align closely with the agency’s strategic goals and funding priorities. The ideal candidate is a trusted, neutral advisor experienced in enterprise IT transformation within the public sector, skilled at influencing executive decision-making and navigating complex, cross-agency environments.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Collaborate closely with DIIT and DOE leadership to develop and maintain a comprehensive, multi-year strategic IT roadmap that aligns with mission objectives, regulatory requirements, and available funding.
• Provide executive-level briefings, thought leadership, and informed decision support during critical planning and governance sessions.
• Conduct assessments of existing IT planning and governance practices, delivering actionable recommendations for process and strategic improvements.
• Facilitate alignment and integration across key modernization streams including infrastructure, cybersecurity, data management, and applications.
• Serve as a neutral, trusted advisor in multi-stakeholder engagements, fostering collaboration and consensus among cross-functional teams and inter-agency partners.

Qualifications and Skills

• 10+ years of experience in IT strategy, enterprise transformation, and strategic planning, with a strong focus on public sector or large institutional environments.
• Proven advisory experience supporting C-level executives and senior leadership in complex organizational settings.
• Deep understanding of IT modernization frameworks, governance, and strategic alignment principles.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
