Ambulatory Solutions Advisor
Position Overview:
Emerging Tech is seeking an Ambulatory/PEVH Solution Advisor to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program. This role is ideal for a highly experienced professional with a strong background in IT project management, Cerner Referral Management and Community Care configuration, and electronic health record implementation. The Solution Advisor will provide expertise, support, and knowledge transfer to VA stakeholders at the national, VISN, and local levels. The position requires the ability to translate Cerner capabilities and terminology into actionable workflows for the VA, guide solution experts, and ensure program deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a Solutions Advisor supporting the VA EHRM project by providing Cerner expertise and guidance to VA Solution Experts.
Translate Cerner capabilities and terminology into workflows, design, and workplans to support change requests and enable VA requirements.
Support Solution Management Teams with current state reviews, future state workflow design, process diagrams, and potential Cerner system configurations.
Collaborate with Oracle Health and VA stakeholders on system build, design, workflow changes, and testing activities.
Facilitate Solution Team meetings, including agenda development, coordination, and management of action items.
Assist Solution Management Administrators (SMAs) with task orders, deliverables, and workflow analysis to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Manage, escalate, and resolve trouble tickets and change requests; track and update ticketing activities to support Solution Experts and Advisors.
Review and assist in managing issues, risks, and mitigation plans.
Support reporting requirements, mapping, and identification activities.
Contribute to development and review of EHRM test scripts, training manuals, and job aids to ensure alignment with VA workflows.
Assist with cutover and go-live planning and provide post go-live support.
Provide subject matter expertise specifically on Cerner Referral Management and Community Care.
Track and provide logistical and programmatic support to Solution Teams and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
Support Informaticists and Solution Experts with strategic planning, documentation, and administrative tasks.
Provide project management support, including development, execution, and management of business processes, as well as preparing internal and external briefing materials.
Assist analysts with deep dives into subject areas such as risk management.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of professional work experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or related technical discipline (an additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree)
Knowledge of Cerner Referral Management and Community Care solution configuration
Experience managing IT-related projects
Strong knowledge of project management life cycle methodologies
Experience tracking project costs, schedule, and performance metrics
Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting the VA or similar healthcare environments
Experience implementing electronic health record systems
Cerner Millennium experience (code levels 2018 or higher)
Understanding of Cerner Model recommendations
Specific expertise in the following areas: PowerChart, Ambulatory organizer, Message Center, Patient Portal, Powerforms, Dynamic Documentation, IView, Tasking, Order Management, mPages
Ability to work independently to design and develop new software solutions or enhance existing products in a healthcare/clinical environment
Experience analyzing and developing current and future state workflows
Experience managing functional validation and end-user testing for Cerner (or other EHR) and integrated third-party solutions
Skilled in leveraging ServiceNow’s out-of-the-box features to customize reports and manage tickets
Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholder groups to evaluate, escalate, and resolve issues
Strong leadership, written/oral communication, analytical, and organizational skills
