Oracle Health Technical Specialist
Emerging Tech is seeking a Technical Specialist (Health IT Software Architect IV) to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with a strong background in healthcare IT architecture, systems integration, and electronic health record (EHR) implementation. The Technical Specialist will serve as the field-facing implementation expert, applying advanced technical knowledge to support Oracle Health deployments in alignment with the EHRM IO strategic plan. This position requires extensive collaboration with multiple stakeholder groups, independent problem-solving, and the ability to travel up to 70% to support enterprise-wide implementation activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the lead technical resource for Oracle Health EHR implementations, ensuring optimization of deployment and alignment with program objectives.
Collaborate with OIT, BioMed, FMS, clinical and support services, project managers, and other technical teams to identify, document, and address technical requirements.
Provide expert guidance on system dependencies, interoperability, and integration challenges across healthcare IT environments.
Design and develop new software solutions or enhance existing systems to support healthcare and clinical operations.
Conduct feasibility analyses on potential technical projects and present recommendations to program leadership.
Address and resolve complex issues related to healthcare semantics, informatics, systems compatibility, and multi-platform integration.
Ensure timely project completion by independently managing technical tasks and contributing to program milestones.
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of professional experience in healthcare IT software development, architecture, or related fields.
Proven ability to independently design, develop, and implement complex software products for healthcare or clinical environments.
Advanced expertise in systems integration, healthcare informatics, interoperability, and multi-platform systems.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical problem-solving and ensure project completion.
Experience conducting feasibility analyses and providing technical recommendations for enterprise-wide projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare IT, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related technical field, or an additional 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs or other large healthcare organizations.
Hands-on experience implementing Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems at scale.
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
Flexibility and willingness to travel up to 70% to support nationwide implementation efforts.
