Interventional Radiology Physician – Brooklyn VA Medical Center
Emerging Tech is seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Radiology Physician to provide full-time on-site and on-call interventional radiology services to Veterans at the Brooklyn VA Medical Center in New York. The physician will deliver comprehensive interventional radiology care, supervise residents, participate in academic activities, and support the VA’s mission to provide exceptional medical services to our nation’s Veterans.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive interventional radiology care, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and performance of IR procedures for inpatients, outpatients, and consults.
Supervise and provide clinical direction to residents and fellows in accordance with ACGME and VHA guidelines, ensuring proper training, documentation, and compliance with VA standards.
Participate in academic activities that foster professional development of residents, including teaching, quality assurance meetings, and clinical research protocol development.
Conduct consultations, follow-up visits, and ongoing monitoring to evaluate patient outcomes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, radiologists, pharmacists, and nursing staff, to ensure coordinated and evidence-based patient care.
Provide on-call coverage during evenings, weekends, holidays, and any hours outside routine clinic operations, responding within 15 minutes to pages and seeing patients within 60 minutes as medically indicated.
Document all patient interactions accurately and promptly in the VA’s electronic medical record system (CPRS), in compliance with VA, TJC, and Brooklyn VAMC standards.
Maintain compliance with VA credentialing, privileging, continuing medical education, and all facility-required mandatory training (e.g., ACLS, BLS, CPRS, VA mandatory courses).
Ensure services meet or exceed standards set by the American College of Radiology (ACR), Joint Commission (TJC), and American Hospital Association (AHA).
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from a school accredited by LCME, COCA, or another recognized accrediting body.
Current, active, full, and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
Board Certified in Interventional Radiology through the American Board of Radiology (ABR).
Demonstrated technical proficiency in interventional radiology procedures.
Minimum of three (3) years of post-residency clinical experience in interventional radiology practice preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and maintain strong communication with clinical and administrative personnel.
Completion of all required VA education and mandatory training, including ACLS, BLS, CPRS, and VA-specific courses.
Compensation and Benefits:
Competitive salary range: $575,000 – $625,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
