Sustainment Project Manager (Remote)

Emerging Tech is seeking a remote Sustainment Project Manager to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program. This role supports EHRM-IO sustainment activities by collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure continuity, stability, and effective long-term operations of EHR capabilities following deployment.

The Sustainment Project Manager will support planning, execution, documentation, and tracking of sustainment activities across VA and EHR contractor teams. This role requires strong IT project management skills, analytical capabilities, and experience supporting large-scale federal health IT programs in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with VA and other key stakeholders to support EHRM-IO sustainment activities
• Research and collect information on legacy and planned sustainment activities across stakeholder groups
• Execute sustainment tasks in accordance with approved project plans and timelines
• Create, manage, and maintain sustainment documentation within designated VA SharePoint and Microsoft Teams environments
• Review task order deliverables submitted by EHR contractor(s) and provide feedback and recommendations
• Provide analytical support, including running reports and tracking sustainment task progress
• Review, prioritize, and track incoming action requests through closure
• Maintain stewardship of sustainment action items and decision tracking
• Support reporting, documentation, and meeting facilitation related to sustainment efforts
• Identify risks, issues, and dependencies related to sustainment activities and support mitigation planning

Minimum Qualifications:

• 8+ years of professional work experience
• Experience managing Information Technology–related projects or sustainment activities
• Strong understanding of project lifecycle and project management methodologies
• Experience tracking schedules, performance metrics, and task progress
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data, review deliverables, and provide recommendations
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or a related scientific/technical discipline
o Additional relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
• Experience implementing or sustaining Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
• Experience working in large, complex, multi-stakeholder federal environments
• Familiarity with VA collaboration tools such as SharePoint and Microsoft Teams

Compensation:

$120,000 – $125,000 annually, based on skills and experience
