Position: Temporary Laborer / Technical Mover – Data Center Relocation
Location: Nationwide (Travel up to 80% across the U.S.)
Pay: $50/hour

Position Overview:
Emerging Tech is seeking temporary laborers/technical movers to support the relocation of data center equipment for Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) facilities nationwide. This role involves the careful de-racking, relocation, and re-racking of IT hardware—including servers, switches, routers, and storage devices—as part of ongoing construction or modernization efforts. Candidates should be physically capable, dependable, and able to travel extensively across the country.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the disassembly, transport, and reassembly of server racks and IT components.

• Handle and move IT hardware, including servers, network switches, routers, storage devices, and other data center equipment.

• Follow instructions from VA OIT and Facilities Management staff to ensure accurate relocation per pre-coordinated plans.

• Maintain proper labeling, protection, and organization of equipment throughout the move.

• Support cable management, rack alignment, and installation tasks in accordance with technical plans.

• Adhere strictly to scheduled timelines, safety protocols, and security procedures.

• Work off-hours or overnight shifts as needed to support project requirements.

Requirements:

• Ability to lift and maneuver 50–75 lbs repeatedly and safely.

• Previous experience in IT equipment handling, server room relocations, AV/telecom moves, or data center support preferred.

• Must be punctual, dependable, and able to follow detailed directions precisely.

• Willingness and ability to travel extensively, up to 80% nationwide.

• Must have reliable transportation for off-site assignments.

• Professional demeanor and respect for sensitive environments required.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts as necessary.
