Job Summary   
Emerging Tech is hiring multiple Cybersecurity Auditors Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support one of Emerging Tech’s clients. This position will involve periodic travel to Tallahassee, FL, and will focus on compliance assessments, auditing functions, and risk management activities for state IT systems. The specialist will work in close coordination with the OCIG and serve as an independent reviewer of IT processes and security practices. We are seeking folks who reside within 50 miles of Tallahassee, Florida.

Responsibilities
  • Perform IT compliance reviews and audits in accordance with government auditing standards.
  • Assist in risk assessments, control testing, and compliance evaluations against state and federal standards.
  • Review IT policies, procedures, and system documentation for adherence to cybersecurity requirements.
  • Provide independent recommendations to strengthen IT governance, processes, and controls.
  • Support the development of reports, presentations, and recommendations for CIG leadership.
  • Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with HIPAA, PII, FERPA, CJIS, and related security clearance requirements.
  • Collaborate with OCIG and OIG personnel to deliver audit and compliance findings.
  • Participate in training to maintain proficiency in emerging industry tools, standards, and practices.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or Information Security. Degrees in related technical fields like Engineering (Computer/Electrical), Information Assurance, or Data Analytics are also relevant.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience conducting IT audits, compliance reviews, or risk management assessments in government settings.
  • Working knowledge of NIST CSF and Florida cybersecurity standards under Rule 60GG-2, F.A.C.
  • Familiarity with GAO Yellow Book and IIA Red Book auditing standards.
  • Experience handling sensitive/restricted data in compliance with applicable laws and exemptions.
  • Professional certifications preferred (e.g., CISSP, PMP, CEH).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to provide evidence-based recommendations.
  • Ability to travel to Tallahassee, FL as required.
