Emerging Tech is seeking a Sustainment Health IT Advisor to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO) program. This role provides technical expertise and advisory support for sustainment activities, ensuring alignment, standardization, and optimization of electronic health record (EHR) systems across the VA enterprise.

The Sustainment Health IT Advisor works collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to support system enhancements, manage transition-to-sustainment efforts, and ensure delivery of high-quality, compliant solutions. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and experience in healthcare IT environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide EHR technical expertise and recommendations for design and development of new software products and enhancements to existing systems
• Promote system standardization and alignment with enterprise models and EHRM-IO objectives
• Collaborate with EHRM stakeholders, including Solution Experts, VHA Tier 1 experts, Solution Management Administrators, Project Managers, and Deployment, Technology, and Standardization teams
• Facilitate cross-functional coordination to ensure alignment across sustainment and operational activities
• Support transition-to-sustainment efforts, including oversight and coordination of sustainment project teams
• Ensure project deadlines are met and proactively identify, escalate, and mitigate risks and issues in accordance with program processes
• Review and provide feedback on task order deliverables submitted by EHR vendor(s)
• Conduct research and gather data related to legacy systems and sustainment transition activities across stakeholder groups
• Provide technical analysis related to systems integration, interoperability, healthcare informatics, and platform compatibility
• Support feasibility analysis and provide recommendations for future enhancements and initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional work experience
• Experience designing and developing new software products or major enhancements within a healthcare or clinical environment
• Demonstrated expertise in systems integration, compatibility, healthcare semantics, informatics, and multi-platform environments
• Experience serving as a technical lead or subject matter expert responsible for project delivery
• Ability to perform feasibility analysis and provide recommendations to leadership
• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline
o An additional 10 years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
• Experience implementing or supporting Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems

Have you supported federal healthcare programs such as the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), DoD, or similar?*

Have you independently designed or supported enhancements to healthcare IT systems (e.g., system integrations, workflows, or platform improvements)?*

This role is budgeted between $110,000–$125,000. Does this align with your expectations?*
