Ambulatory Solution Advisor
Emerging Tech is seeking an experienced Ambulatory Solution Advisor to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program. The Solution Advisor will provide Oracle Health (Cerner) subject-matter expertise, advisory support, and knowledge transfer to VA national leadership, VISN councils, local sites, and solution experts.
This role serves as a key liaison between VA stakeholders, Oracle Health, and program teams to ensure accurate translation of solution capabilities, effective workflow design including ambulatory workflows, and successful delivery of EHRM program objectives. The Solution Advisor will support EHRM-IO solution planning, workflow analysis, testing, issue management, and go-live activities across VA and EHR contractor teams.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with VA, Oracle Health, and other stakeholders to support EHRM-IO solution activities
Provide Oracle Health (Cerner) solution expertise and conduct knowledge transfer sessions for national/VISN councils, local workshops, and VA solution experts
Translate Cerner solution capabilities, configurations, and nomenclature including ambulatory workflows into VA-understandable functional and operational concepts
Support VA-assigned solution experts in gaining solution knowledge within their functional areas
Analyze current-state workflows and assist with future-state workflow design, documentation, and diagrams
Identify workflow risks, gaps, and pain points and support mitigation planning
Review task order deliverables from EHR contractors and provide feedback and recommendations
Track task orders, manage escalations, and ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on time
Log, track, and update tickets across multiple ticketing applications
Support development of EHRM testing scripts and assist with testing, cutover, go-live, and post-go-live stabilization activities, including ambulatory deployments
Facilitate Solution Team meetings, including agenda development, action item tracking, and follow-up
Coordinate Oracle Health activities to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and delivery
Support reporting, dashboards, and executive briefings for solution activities
Identify risks, issues, and dependencies and assist with mitigation planning
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of professional work experience
Experience supporting IT or healthcare IT initiatives
Strong understanding of system life cycle and project management methodologies
Experience tracking schedules, performance metrics, deliverables, and costs
Demonstrated ability to analyze workflows, review deliverables, and provide recommendations
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or related discipline (or 8 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
Experience implementing or supporting Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
Experience with ambulatory workflows, capacity management, and/or Clairvia
Experience with Oracle Health (Cerner) solutions in large, complex federal environments
Familiarity with SharePoint, MS Office, dashboards, and reporting tools
