FEHRM Data Scientist
Emerging Tech is seeking a Data Scientist to support the Federal Electronic Health Record Modernization (FEHRM) office. This position will focus on creating and enhancing data visualizations and dashboards that provide insights into system deployment progress and operational performance. The ideal candidate will be a strong collaborator with experience developing Power BI dashboards, normalizing data from multiple sources, and translating stakeholder needs into clear, actionable visual products.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and data visualizations for the FEHRM program, primarily using Power BI.
Collaborate in an integrated team environment to support data-driven decision-making.
Collect, clean, and normalize data through regular engagement with program stakeholders.
Present dashboards to teammates and government staff, incorporating feedback to improve usability and impact.
Implement advanced dashboard development methods such as automated data ingestion and transformation, while also applying simpler approaches when appropriate.
Support documentation, quality assurance, and version control of all developed dashboards.
Minimum Qualifications:
4+ years of professional experience in data visualization, analytics, or related technical roles.
Strong understanding of data sourcing, analysis, and visualization best practices.
Proficient in Power BI and experienced in building data models, visualizations, and reports.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
Master’s degree in Healthcare, Science, Computer Engineering, or a related scientific, technical, or clinical field (an additional 8 years of relevant experience may substitute for degree requirements).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Experience implementing or supporting electronic health record (EHR) systems.
