Pay range: $34 - $36 per hour
What You'll Do:
- Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and industry standards (e.g., AAMI, OSHA, and Joint Commission guidelines).
- Track and manage inventory of sterile supplies and instruments.
- Collaborate with surgical and clinical teams to ensure timely availability of sterile equipment.
- Document and maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance.
- Support a safe and efficient healthcare environment for veterans and staff.
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or CSPDT) is required.
- 3+ years of experience in sterile processing or a related healthcare role.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control practices, and medical terminology.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
